Gracie has recovered completely!
Gracie is completely fine now ....she wouldn't eat for 3 weeks but she is thankfully better now and back to her old self! THANK YOU to the kind donors who helped with her vet bills!
Turns out she has pyometra. When I first got her the vet thought she might have been spayed already given her age. We were watching for a heat cycle to prove us wrong and it never happened so we felt pretty confident that she was not intact. Well that blew up in our face in a big way since she now has pyometra and is undergoing emergency surgery this afternoon.
Update 10/25 - Gracie made it through surgery ok and is alert and eating some. We hope she will be able to come home today.
Gracie is approximately 10 years old and was a stray on her way to the pound, the people who found her were nice enough to hold on to her until I had space to take her in. She had to be shaved due to extensive matted fur. She went to the vet for her shots and a check up and also to find out what was going on with her teeth. She has a very odd set of teeth, the vet said she would need a dental and about 8 teeth extracted. Please consider donating money to help with her dental which will cost about 300.00 dollars.
